These are our new offices in Düsseldorf

The German branch of Aryza is now located in the Cubus in Düsseldorf

Welcome to our new office

In mid-March, Aryza GmbH in Germany moved to new premises in the Cubus at Niederkasseler Lohweg 18 in Düsseldorf on the left bank of the Rhine. Claudia Hof, project manager at the responsible office for workplace consulting, presents the concept.

From a bird’s eye view, the pixel look of the carpet in the office wing on the 10th floor is somewhat reminiscent of the first computer games in the 80s. Claudia Hof, interior designer and workplace consultant at Projektlabor, naturally didn’t think of Space Invaders when planning the new premises: “Our goal was to break down the separation between the different areas. The pixel look came about through the use of carpet tiles.”

The new office space was developed by Projektlabor together with Aryza. Interviews were conducted to find out about working practices, meeting culture and individual needs of each area, which were then analysed. From this data, Projektlabor developed a guideline for finding the right office space. After a short intensive search, the two floors in the Cubus were found.

Projektlabor then planned the space according to the findings from the interviews. The final room structure with open-space workplaces, retreat andcollaboration possibilities emerged quite quickly. The result is a modern working environment that enables concentrated work and at the same time promotes exchange among colleagues.

“It was important to us and the Aryza managers to open up the previous individual workspace situation more and to create an attractive office space where employees enjoy spending time,” explains Claudia Hof. One challenge was to design the workplaces in the OpenSpace in particular in such a way that concentrated work is possible. To achieve this, particular attention was paid to the room acoustics. “The floor coverings are equipped with an acoustic back,” explains the interior designer. In addition, there are elements on the ceiling that reduce the reverberation time. Certain office rules are also to apply to create a pleasant working atmosphere.

“We want to create a modern, attractive and flexible working environment for employees with open spaces, modular project rooms, retreat rooms for discreet conversations as well as social time areas,” adds David Korbel, General Manager DACH. The latter are gaining in importance in times of hybrid work models, in which people no longer meet each other every day in the office at a fixed workplace.

The furnishing concept, which was developed together with the Meerbusch-based office furniture supplier Inwerk, provides height-adjustable desks with electric motors for all workstations. For more privacy, fabric-covered acoustic panels are placed between two opposite anels are placed between two opposite workplaces. Storage elements are arranged towards the corridor area, the lower section of which can be used as a classic sideboard with doors. The upper area is designed as a shelf with partially closed elements. This maintains the transparency of the area and at the same time protects the workplaces from view.

On the 9th floor, in addition to the reception and other project and meeting rooms, there is also the staff bistro and a spacious lounge area. This is where things will be lively, “The area is not just for lunch breaks, but also offers the opportunity to celebrate birthdays and smaller events.” Not only can people cook in the fully equipped kitchen. A drinking water system has also been integrated, so that sparkling, chilled and hot water can be tapped. This is also possible in the small tea kitchens on the 10th floor.

The colour concept is based on the CI specifications and the furnishing concept from the Aryza headquarters in Ireland. At the same time, Projektlabor attached importance to the Düsseldorf location having its own identity. “It was important to the Aryza project team to plan modern and attractive premises – and as high up as possible,” explains Claudia Hof. This has undoubtedly been achieved.

David Korbel. explains the choice of a more central location in Düsseldorf as follows: “We want to offer our employees more possibilities to reach their workplace in a CO2-neutral way. The location should also increase the attractiveness for applicants, especially the younger generations appreciate the accessibility by sustainable means of transport.
