Celebrating International Women’s Day: Progress, Challenges, and the Road Ahead

Every year on March 8th, International Women’s Day serves as a global reminder of the achievements, resilience, and contributions of women across all aspects of society. It is a day to celebrate progress, acknowledge challenges, and reinforce the call for gender equality in every regard—from the workplace to communities and beyond.

While significant strides have been made in advancing women’s rights, the journey is far from over. True equality means breaking down barriers, fostering inclusive environments, and ensuring that opportunities are accessible to all. This year, as we mark International Women’s Day, it’s a chance to reflect on how far we’ve come and, more importantly, how we can continue pushing for meaningful change.

At Aryza, we believe that amplifying women’s voices is key to shaping a more inclusive workplace and industry. As part of our commitment to equality, we’re taking this opportunity to hear from some of the incredible women at Aryza—sharing their experiences, perspectives the change they want to inspire, and insights on what the day means to them.

Stephanie Dockerty – Head of Fintech and Retail Banking

“This International Women’s Day I will be celebrating and uplifting the achievements of the amazing colleagues, clients and suppliers I have the privilege to work with in the fintech industry who identify as women. I will also celebrate allies, who recognise and promote the value of women, in all their diverse forms, and champion global and unilateral workplace equity.”

Caroline McKenna – Executive Assistant

“On International Women’s Day, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and brilliance of women everywhere. As an executive assistant, I am proud to support and empower the incredible women I work with every day, knowing that our collective impact makes the world a better place. Here’s to breaking barriers, lifting each other up, and continuing to inspire change.”

Laura Dale-Gough – Business Development Director, Legal, Insolvency, and Collections

“I’m thrilled to be part of celebrating International Women’s Day and the amazing women at Aryza. March is a special month for me as it’s my birthday month, and coincidentally, it’s also the month of International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day—both of which give me an even greater reason to reflect on the importance of empowering and supporting women.

Being a woman in fintech means navigating both challenges and opportunities, and the key to thriving is starting. The journey begins with taking that first step, and from there, continue to growth with an open mind and never stop learning. Women often juggle multiple responsibilities, balancing various roles at home and work, and are exceptional at finding creative solutions to complex challenges which has been a huge advantage to my career. My advice to other women is to work hard, trust in your voice, and always feel deserving of your place in any room. Don’t let doubt hold you back—know your worth and embrace your unique contributions, and don’t be afraid of failure, it is part of the process and a valuable teacher.

Melina Seeam – Marketing Executive

A woman with a fighter spirit doesn’t wait for challenges to pass. She faces them head-on, leading with resilience, strength, and determination. In every decision, and every breakthrough, she is the force that drives success. Let’s continue to empower progress, challenging limits, and architecting an inspirational future.

Linda Weuthen – Group General Counsel

“International Women’s Day celebrates women’s achievements across all fields, particularly in the workplace where diverse voices drive innovation and progress. It serves as a reminder to dismantle barriers, cultivate inclusive environments, and empower every woman to lead and flourish. Together, we create a future where equality and opportunity shine in every aspect of our lives.”
